Step-by-Step Instructions

Copy the TikTok link

In the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow on the video or photo post, then tap Copy link.

Paste it into VidSaver

Open vidsaver.xyz/tiktok-downloader in Safari. Tap the clipboard icon in the box (or long-press and choose Paste), then tap Download.

Download the file

When the preview appears, tap Download Video. Safari asks whether you want to download the file. Tap Download. It's saved to the Files app, in Downloads.

Move it to Photos

Open the Files app, go to Downloads (On My iPhone or iCloud Drive) and tap the video. Tap the Share button and choose Save Video. For photos, choose Save Image.

Tips

Tap the download icon in Safari's address bar to watch progress or open the finished file.
MP3 files stay in Files. Play them there or share them to another app.
To change where Safari saves files, go to Settings > Safari > Downloads (Settings > Apps > Safari on iOS 18 and later).

Android

Copy the TikTok link

In the TikTok app, tap Share on the post, then Copy link.

Paste it into VidSaver

Open vidsaver.xyz/tiktok-downloader in Chrome, paste the link into the box and tap Download.

Save the file

Tap Download Video. Chrome shows a download message at the bottom of the screen. Tap Open when it finishes to play the video.

Find it later

Files go to your Download folder. Google Photos and most gallery apps show them in a Download album, and the Files app lists them under Downloads.

Tips

If Chrome asks to allow multiple downloads when you use Download all on a slideshow, tap Allow.
Downloaded MP3s show up in the Files app under Audio and in most music players.
Downloads can fail when your phone is almost out of storage. Free up some space and try again.

Windows & Mac

Copy the video address

Open the post on tiktok.com and copy the URL from the address bar (it looks like tiktok.com/@user/video/…), or use Share and then Copy link.

Paste and look it up

Paste the link into VidSaver and click Download.

Save the file

Click Download Video (or Download MP3 or Download Image on the other tools). Your browser saves it to the Downloads folder, or asks where to save it if you've turned that setting on.

Open it

On Windows, press Ctrl+J in Chrome or Edge, or Ctrl+Shift+Y in Firefox. On a Mac, press Option+Cmd+L in Safari, or click the downloads icon in your browser's toolbar.

Tips

Want to pick the folder each time? Turn on "Ask where to save each file" in your browser's download settings.
Files are named after the post caption, so rename them if you want something shorter.
If a video plays with sound but no picture on Windows, it probably uses the HEVC (H.265) codec. Play it in VLC or install Microsoft's HEVC Video Extensions.

Browser-Specific Tips

Each browser handles downloads a little differently. Here's what to expect.

Chrome & Edge

  • Files go to your Downloads folder by default.
  • Press Ctrl+J on Windows to open the downloads list, or use the download icon in the toolbar.
  • Settings > Downloads lets you change the folder or ask every time.
  • For slideshows, allow "download multiple files" for vidsaver.xyz when asked.

Firefox

  • The downloads arrow in the toolbar shows progress and finished files.
  • Press Ctrl+Shift+Y on Windows to open the full downloads library.
  • Settings > General > Files and Applications controls where files are saved.
  • Firefox may ask what to do with MP3 files. Choose Save File.

Safari (Mac & iPhone)

  • On a Mac, files go to Downloads. Press Option+Cmd+L to see the list.
  • On iPhone and iPad, tap Download when Safari asks, then find the file in Files > Downloads.
  • On a Mac, change the folder in Safari Settings > General > File download location.
  • If only the first slideshow image saves, allow multiple downloads when prompted or save images one at a time.

What You'll Get

Each tool saves a different part of a TikTok post. There's no quality menu: you always get the best version TikTok provides.

Video (MP4)

The video in the best version TikTok offers: HD when available, typically 720p–1080p.

Best for: Watching offline or backing up your own posts
File: .mp4. A short clip is usually a few MB.

Audio (MP3)

The sound attached to the post, whether that's the original audio or the track the creator used.

Best for: Keeping a voice-over or original sound you're allowed to reuse
File: .mp3, much smaller than the video

Slideshow photos

Every image in a TikTok photo post, each saved as a separate file.

Best for: Saving recipe cards, infographics or your own photo posts
File: .jpg or .webp, one file per image

Cover & profile picture

A video's cover image, or (with the profile picture tool) an account's avatar at full size.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Something not working? These fixes solve most problems.

The link won't load

  • Copy the link again using Share > Copy link in TikTok
  • Use a single video or photo post link, not a profile, sound, hashtag or LIVE page
  • Check that the post is public and hasn't been deleted
  • Wait a minute and retry, because TikTok occasionally blocks lookups for a short time

The download fails or stops

  • Check your connection and try again
  • Download one file at a time instead of several at once
  • Files larger than 100 MB can't be downloaded through VidSaver
  • If you see "Rate limit exceeded", wait a while (the limit resets hourly)

I can't find the file

  • iPhone/iPad: open the Files app and look in Downloads
  • Android: open the Files app or Google Photos and look for Download
  • Computer: open your Downloads folder or your browser's downloads list
  • Check whether your browser is set to ask where to save each file

The video won't play

  • Make sure the original post plays on TikTok
  • Try another player, such as VLC
  • On Windows, install HEVC Video Extensions if you get sound but no picture
  • If the file is 0 KB, download it again
